S. Elwood York, Jr. has decades of experience in conservation, community engagement, and wilderness stewardship. Most recently, as CEO of Conservation Legacy, Elwood led a national non-profit engaging future leaders in public lands service. His federal government experience includes the EPA, USAID and US Forest Service, where he managed 36 million acres of wilderness. Elwood is also a veteran trial attorney, having served as a judge, attorney general, and corrections official. A Richmond native, he is an alumnus of a historic African American summer camp. Elwood holds a Bachelor's in Zoology from Howard University and a law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
Sandy Bonilla has over 30 years of experience in grants management, implementation, and writing. She has worked under several government agencies including providing technical assistance and training to federal grantees for the US Center for Substance Abuse Prevention and worked as a Special Assistant in the San Francisco Mayor’s Office under three mayoral administrations for CBO grants/contracts. Ms. Bonilla has also worked in higher education at the University of Nebraska and most currently with the California State University, Los Angeles, assisting faculty in creating a Certificate Program for Positive Youth Development under extended learning. Ms. Bonilla is also the founder of the Urban Conservation Corps of the Inland Empire, in Southern California; and is a State Advisor to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. She has written and directed over 25 million in grant funds throughout her career across the United States.
Michael Theard is Past President of the 9th & 10th (Horse) Cavalry Association "Buffalo Soldiers" and implements goals to help youth access careers. A retired Army Master Sergeant with 23 years of service, he held leadership roles in Infantry and Signals units. Theard had a 40-year professional services career, including 15 years as a managing partner focused on systems management and government contracting. He works to connect youth to quality careers through his leadership roles with Buffalo Soldiers and as a military veteran.
Ms. Regina Gilmore has over 35 years of experience serving justice-involved and mental health challenges from underserved communities. She is a Human Rights Commissioner and was on a police oversight panel. Since retiring from public service, Ms. Gilmore has focused on expanding access to public lands for underrepresented groups. She co-developed implicit bias training for Park Rangers and supervised programs connecting urban youth to fishing and outdoors. Ms. Gilmore works to promote inclusion in public lands.
Michael DuBose has over 30 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment, community health clinics, and correctional healthcare. He has focused on public and correctional health for 25 years, striving to ensure quality care in corrections commensurate with community standards. Dubose has served as an expert faculty member on HIV/AIDS and adjunct professor. Since 2006 he has provided independent consultation on adult and juvenile correctional health, food service, and environmental health. Dubose has an MSW from the University of Georgia.
Jerone J. Jones is a highly experienced technology security expert with over 18 years of experience in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. As the owner and Chief Executive Director of JustOne Solutions, a Maryland-based cybersecurity company, Jerone has earned a reputation as a pragmatic and creative leader in technology professional services and consultation.
